Connoisseur Golden Retrievers
Our Story

Once upon a time... there was a five year old girl that adored dogs.  No dogs in particular, just dogs in general.  Her parents indulged her wishes but never let her animals come inside the house. Once the grown up little girl moved into her own home, she filled it with a puppy. From that point on there was no turning back. Many dogs and other assorted animals joined her family throughout the years. Then she met a man. This man had never been allowed to have pets while he was growing up. Though he tried several times to bring a dog into his parent's home, they were always turned away.

It was a match made in Heaven. They fell in love and got married. Their very first Golden Retriever, Abby, was present and smiling when their wedding photographs were taken. Abby and the bride both wore the same white silk material that day...except Abby's was on her collar-bow.

Our first golden retriever was of American decent and deep red in color.  When we went in search of a sibling for Abby, we accidentally transitioned to the European segment of the breed. It wasn't a deliberate decision to pursue a lighter color, but rather, we preferred a stockier, blockier conformation. What we didn't realize at the time was how docile and kind these lighter dogs were.  Once we realized the difference in temperament, we never went back.

We have traveled near and far to find the perfect Golden Retrievers to join our family.  We have been from the Low Country of South Carolina to the countryside of France. We feel very fortunate that long-standing Championship kennels have considered us worthy to raise their beautiful puppies. Our dog's lineages are some of the strongest in the United States, claiming Canadian and European Championship parents, grandparents and great-grandparents that include Rossmix Rugger, Xanthos Apple Jack, Matador V.D. Beerse Hoeve, and Mandingo Traveller.
